The scene on the right depicts
Moses reading the story of the salvation of Israel to his people. On the left, Moses
hands over his golden rod to Joshua who is kneeling before him, who was to lead the Jews
into Israel. In the background Moses can be seen climbing up Mount Nebo where an
angel of the Lord reveals the Promised Land to him from afar, and in the upper left we see
him descending to his place of death. |
