This
project will reconstruct an ancient Etruscan fibula in gold, along
with its bracket and container, which will then be put on display in
the Gregorian Etruscan Museum.
The
copy of the gold fibula will be made using ancient techniques to help
understand the process both for scientific and educational reasons.
The various stages of the restoration will be photographically
documented in order to demonstrate the various intermediary stages of
the reconstruction. The
instruments utilized will be illustrated along with the decorative
techniques. The
re-constructed fibula in gold, the intermediary phases of the work,
along with the material used by an ancient goldsmith, will all be
displayed in a glass exhibition case.
