Sistine Chapel:  cataloguing the scientific data from the restorations (Michelangelo & 15th cent. artists)

PLEDGED FOR RESTORATION 2003

This project entails the cataloguing of all the samples taken during the restoration of the Sistine Chapel—both from the frescoes done by Michelangelo and those done by the artists from the 15th century.  The project will provide the information necessary to properly carry out the conservation of the frescoes in the Sistine Chapel.  The data compiled will be available for consultation on CD-Rom.

  • UV microflorimeter

  • System for image resolution and enhancing
