Egyptian painted wooden statue for papyrus of the Book of the Dead

This is a wooden statue of Osiris, the God of Death.  It was used as a container for papyri from the book of the Dead.  The restoration hopes to also show the inner cavity of the statue where the Book of the Dead was concealed.

  •  The restoration of this object calls for a special technique and specific methods of analysis.

  • Fixation of exterior pigments and inlayed decorations
