Father Kevin Lixey, LC is a member of the religious congregation of the Legionaries of Christ since 1989, and was ordained a priest in 2001. He holds degrees in Philosophy and Theology from the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum inRome. Before coming to the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums, Father Kevin served as director of the Regnum Christi Women’s Section in Atlanta, and was a spiritual director for young women in the movement. Prior to this, he was in the Vatican for 8 years bridging the worlds between Church and Sport within the Pontifical Council for the Laity. He has authored multiple articles and books on the subjects of pastoral challenges in the Church, sports, and St. Paul, and most recently was the editor for Sport & Christianity: A Sign of the Times in the Light of Faith. Originally from Flint, Michigan he is thankful to have developed his ministry both in various US locations and the Vatican. He enjoys working with his hands in many things such as gardening and woodworking, and even on occasion strumming his banjo.
